ok, apparently many people-at least half of those whom i directed towards this blog for the purposes of watching it-do not find the video below funny.
this surprises then saddens me. the detractors all echo palm's comment - that they dont 'get' it. i really dont think there's much to 'get.' it's a parody of a woman who's overly obsessed with her christmas tree. palm said: 'I kept waiting for it...then it ended. Is it because he's in drag?' i think the drag adds to it, but it's certainly not the main pt. my sister was like, 'I don't think I got it....he/she was supposed to be jewish, right?' but i dont even think that's the case either (while it certainly could be interpreted as jewish, the accent could also be interpreted as 'general long or staten island, for eg, staten island italian.')look, you either find it funny, or you dont. i do. leave me be.
my sister also proffered: 'Haha...your disappointment, now that WAS funny!'
we can now all get on board with that statement.

Okay, as the person who sent this video to Colby, I take some responsibility. Why I think it's funny: It's some guy's video christmas card to his mom on staten island. He's clearly making fun of her, but in an affectionate way--this is the way an Italian mom talks about her christmas tree. funny? I say, yes.
i 'get' it. in my best staten italian: it's fuckin' hilarious.
